1. PRIME MINISTER NARENDRA MODI OPENS THE NEW PARLIAMENT BUILDING

Prime Minister Narendra Modi formally launched the new Parliament building on May 28, 2023. The Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla, welcomed him as he came at Gate No. 1 dressed traditionally.

The 8th Governing Council Meeting of Niti Aayog recently took place at the New Convention Centre in New Delhi, under the direction of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors from 19 states and 6 union territories attended the summit.

Nepal has decided to permit Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVN) Limited of India to build a second hydropower project there. Currently, SJVN is working on a 900 MW run-of-river hydroelectric project called Arun-III, which is expected to be finished in 2024 and is situated on the Arun River in Eastern Nepal.
